When Amber first reached out to me and told me her story, I knew I had to be a part of this special reunion. We talked on the phone for a while and as she continued to open up to me about her situation, I was brought to tears.

I decided I wanted to start documenting family legacy films because I wanted to be able to share these incredible stories in a way that could be passed on for generations. I want to tell stories that will leave an impact on other lives, and that is exactly what Gail and Amber’s story will continue to do.

On February 11, 2022, I flew out to Los Angeles, California alongside Amber as she met her birth mom in person for the first in 30 years.

The Backstory

As infants, Elizabeth and Amber were placed in different homes and adopted by separate families. They were estranged from their biological mother (Gail) who was battling addiction and facing criminal charges. Elizabeth and Amber were Irish twins (a little over one year apart in age) and had never been in the same room as Gail at the same time.

In 2018 Amber and Elizabeth met in person for the first time and had formed a close sister bond. Although Elizabeth had been in contact with Gail, up until now, Amber had not seen her biological mother in person in over 30 years.

This is the beautiful redemptive story of that reunion between Amber and Gail. Their hope in sharing publically is to provide encouragement to those who may not have a traditional legacy.
